Mitinet Library Services Careers
We love working with librarians.
And sometimes they return the favor. Mitinet Library Services needs cataloging professionals to help create and maintain our fantastic metadata and MARC records database. If you love the challenge of creating a content-rich MARC record, stuffed with subject headings, filled with fields, crammed with codes, you’ll love working with us as an Independent Cataloging Contractor. We pay a flat rate per record, and you can work as much or as little as you like.
Do you know French? Spanish? Another language?
We are currently expanding into metadata record creation in languages other than English and are particularly looking for people who can not only catalog in English, but in other languages as well. Interested? Contact us for details.
Students - get paid to learn.
If you’re studying to become a librarian, or if the idea of learning how to create great metadata just intrigues you, the Mitinet Education Program may be for you. Mitinet is pleased to work with future librarians and metadata management and creation specialists through this paid internship program that teaches the specifics of metadata and MARC record creation. You’ll learn hands-on, through a series of webinars, learning modules, and resources, the “how” as well as the “why” behind metadata creation, analysis, and management.
As information literacy becomes an increasingly vital part of education and business fields today, and more trained catalogers retire, the need for people skilled in knowledge management will just continue to grow. Learn a skill that will help you become more marketable in this growing field.
